Hybrid Event
Mainz, Germany
September 26 - 28, 2022
Dear visitor,
It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 3rd Focused Ultrasound Neuromodulation (FUN22) Conference in Mainz, Germany.
FUN22 covers the latest research on Transcranial Ultrasound Stimulation (TUS) and is presented by iTRUSST, the International Transcranial Ultrasonic Stimulation Safety and Standards consortium.
FUN22 will be held as in-person conference in Mainz but will have a remote participation option as well. We encourage you to join us for the in-person event if you can to participate in live discussions, collaborative opportunities and social events, and experience the beautiful Rhine valley. However, we are aware that many individuals face barriers to in-person attendance, and we are committed to promoting inclusivity and accessibility. Therefore, we also offer a virtual participation option which will include the possibility to present, and access all materials remotely, even though we cannot provide the same level of interaction as for the on-site attendees. Please see the abstract submission section for further information.
We look forward to seeing you online or in Mainz,

Participation is possible both digitally or on-site.
Please submit your abstract until June 15th (extended) via email to info@fun22.org using the provided abstract submission form.
Submission will open on April 15th.
In our efforts to promote diversity at FUN22, the selection of abstracts for oral presentations will aim to balance the representation of different topics, genders, geographical regions, and career levels, in addition to considering scientific merit. Additionally, need-based travel allowances (with limited availability) will be offered on a case-by-case basis to those who cannot afford joining the conference in person otherwise (Please email info@fun22.org for information).
All poster presenters (in-person and virtual) will be requested to provide a digital poster and a one-minute pre-recorded poster pitch. This pitch will be played during the in-person event, and also be available next to the digital poster in an online forum, which will provide opportunities for discussions between all attendees. In-person poster presenters will additionally present on site.
The conference will take place on the campus of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz in the building “Alte Mensa”.
Two dinners (on Monday and Tuesday evenings) are included in the ticket price! Join us there for further networking, good food and drinks, and some impressions of the historical city of Mainz.
1st Evening at the Gasthausbrauerei Eisgrub
The Eisgrub was the first brewery built in Mainz in 1872. Enjoy some local and traditional German food, and taste (unlimited) the freshly brewed „Eisgrub-Bräu“ beer in this historical setting.
2nd Evening at the Bootshaus Mainz
Experience fine dining at the Bootshaus, courtesy of TV-cook Frank Buchholz, in one of Mainz’ most beautiful settings – with views directly onto the river Rhine.
Mainz can be easily reached by train or car. The closest international airport is Frankfurt am Main (FRA, 20 min from Mainz). Please note that any accommodation requirements will have to be self-arranged.
Our thoughts are also with those affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Please note that travel throughout Europe outside of Ukraine territory is completely safe and not compromised in any way.
Moreover, ITRUSST offers its sincerest apologies for the unfortunate overlap of the conference scheduling with Rosh Hashanah this year. ITRUSST will put forward its utmost efforts to avoid overlap with religious holidays for future events.
FUN22 takes the safety and health of our attendees as our highest priority. We request all attendees to wear face masks (FFP2 / N95) indoors throughout the conference. Please respect each other’s preferred distance. We will continuously monitor and adjust to the pandemic developments and adhere to local regulations. We strongly encourage participants to ensure their own immunization, and access to the medical part of the university campus will require valid proof of vaccination/recovery.
